Orcas Island is 57 square miles with 70 miles of shoreline,
approximately 90 miles north of Seattle, Washington in the gorgeous
waters of Puget Sound. Approximately 4400 people are year-round
residents of Orcas Island. Orcas Island however, is neither as isolated
nor rustic. In addition to Washington State Ferries providing many daily
trips to the mainland, Orcas is easily accessible by boats and planes,
both private and commercial.
The community of Orcas Island is a rich blend of retirees, artists,
performers, young families, fisherman, life long islanders and
telecommuters. The people of Orcas Island have much in common for
